Street food in the Philippines are often found in Carts, Small tables along the side walk, or roaming around populated areas. Some filipino favorites are fish balls, nuts with or without skin, fried intestines of chickens, halo-halo, balot or penoy, and many more.
The picture above shows the beef mami. It is also a popular street food dish among filipinos. It contains noodles, chunks of beef and vegetables. It soothes the tummies of people that eat them. It is served hot and refills you with soup again without any additional payment.
There is also a tandem with the beef mami. When you mix or eat it with rice, it is now called pares. Pares is a filipino word that when translated to english, it is "pair". It is also very budget friendly that even locals have them for their dinner.
I was walking to school when I came a across a food cart surrounded by construction men and students. I went closer and see for myself what they were surrounding at for. It was this beef noodles that they were lining up for. Since i didn't eat my breakfast yet, I went on and ordered one dine in beef noodles for myself.
Manong (how we call older lads or seniors) served it hot and smoking. Oh! it looked mouth watering. I just couldn't wait for it to cool down. But I didn't want to get my tongue burnt so I blew it till it is cool enough to eat. It was good and okay. I still had this thinking at the back of my mind that I'm still not sure if the dish was clean or the utensils that i was using was clean. I wasn't sure of how it will affect my stomach after eating eat but it was not a regretful decision to try it. It was satisfying in fact.
